I just finished these elbow length fingerless gloves and they are lovely. I used malabrigo so they are so soft and will be great under a coat in the winter.

I splurged this week and bought some be sweet yarn. The be sweet yarn is hand spun and dyed by women in South Africa. Who knew that South Africa produces 65% of the world mohair. For the baby hat I used be sweet slubby mohair for trim and then be sweet knobby mohair for the rest. After about four inches of knitting with the knobby mohair I pulled a ribbon through. I only used about half of each so I will make another this week.

More baby booties! I really do enjoy making Erika's Knight's pattern, however I need to work on the 3 needles bind off. I think I should flip the booties inside out before I do the bind off as the bottom seam is not very smooth.

How can anyone not love Twinkle designer Wenlan Chia and her new Weekend Knits book! The book has 20 fast knits that are perfect for the weekend. I am also a big fan of her Big City Knits book. What is great about her books is that her designs are not about fancy stitches but more about creating a modern shape using chunky yarn.

This luxe neck warmer is from the knit two together book by Tracy Ullman and Mel Clark. I used Blue Sky Suri Merino yarn in the color Garden. It is so soft and the feather and fan pattern is a good first start at attempting lace.

jaywalker socks

so far no major disasters as I am starting my first pair of socks and I decided to knit them on two circulars. I am using Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock yarn and I love the jaywalker zig zag pattern.

I took one sewing class and now I am hooked. Apparently with no sewing skills you can make a pillow in four hours! I even went back and made another one (this time it went much faster) and now the couch has two.

Clapotis is complete. Je ne sens pas de français.** Since I am wearing this as a scarf and not really as a wrap I don't know if I would have used such expensive yarn....but it does feel nice.

I just finished making this pumpkin colored oversized scarf--just in time for the end of Fall. It is 100% wool (malabrigo aquarella yarn) and very cozy. I used size 19 needles and added some fringe at the ends.

These baby booties are from Erika Knight's baby book, Simple Knits for Cherished Babies. I used Lorna's Laces Angel yarn. This yarn is ultra soft as it is hand dyed Angora/Lambswool yarn.
